Youth

Katie’s Corner

As Easter approaches, we will likely see things popping up everywhere that read: ‘He Lives!’, ‘He is Risen!’, and ‘He is Alive!’ Often, because of our business and rushing, it can be easy to drive past church signs and garden flags, or walk past Easter decorations in a store, without giving statements like these much thought.

So can we take a second and think about Jesus being ALIVE? What does that mean for us?

Romans 6:4 says:We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

Because Jesus was put into a grave, and didn’t stay there, HE is ALIVE. He beat death in the grave and ROSE to prove it.  Jesus is living AROUND us today—actively involved in every aspect of our lives.

If we simply ask HIM, he promises will be alive IN us too. If HE is alive in US… then it is no longer each of US who LIVES, but CHRIST IN US. As believers, we have a BRAND NEW LIFE—CHRIST’S LIFE. Our old selves and old life are DEAD.  Let’s never forget that the RESURRECTION made that possible, and let’s never forget the POWER we have access to!

Can people see JESUS’ LIFE in us this EASTER? Are we letting HIS LIFE shine out of us?  Do people look at us want HIS LIFE IN THEM too? May we always remember to appreciate the fact that…HE IS ALIVE!
